Contempt of Court: Power FM presenter sentenced 14 days

The sentence follows a contempt suit by the Attorney General of the Republic against the presenter last year following an alleged viral video.

An Accra High Court has sentenced a presenter of Power 97.9FM, Oheneba Boamah Bennie to 14 days in prison custody.

Further to the above, the court, presided over by Justice Elfreda Dankyi on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, fined the presenter an amount of GHC 3000.

The above sentence follows a contempt suit by the Attorney General of the Republic against the presenter last year following an alleged viral video.

In the aftermath of his being declared as President-elect, Bennie per an alleged viral video had indicated that President Akufo Addo had met with eight Justices of the Supreme Court including the CJ, Kwasi Anin Yeboah, and had influenced them thus was cited for contempt by the AG.

In her ruling, the Judge declared the contemnor, Oheneba Boamah Bennie guilty of the charge and duly sentenced him.
