Chief Justice launches Court punctuality branding project

The Chief Justice, Kwasi Anin Yeboah has launched a project dubbed; ‘Punctuality signages Court Branding project.’

The project which is an initiative of an NGO, Punctuality Ghana Foundation is aimed at inculcating the habit of respect for time among Judicial Service staff.

The Chief Justice used the opportunity to charge the Judiciary to respect time because doing otherwise can affect justice delivery.

“As the saying goes, justice delayed is justice denied. The implication of this is that justice depends on our officers showing up at work early and getting their duties done with the necessary dispatch,” he noted.

Furthermore, he assured of the Judiciary’s quest to retain a zero-tolerance to lateness thus expressed his commitment to the goals and the campaign of Punctuality Ghana Foundation.

“I want to assure leaders and members of the Punctuality Ghana Foundation that we remain committed to the goals of this campaign on punctuality and productivity and that the service retains a zero-tolerance approach to the lateness of any kind,” he added.

The Chief Justice however bemoaned the quantum of productive hours that are lost in various sectors of the nation as a result of the non-adherence to time in our dealings.

“It is common for some to saunter into work several hours late, to meet people and work piled and in need of immediate attention,” he indicated.
