Ashanti Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party(NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako popularly called Chairman Wontumi has once again cited Entertainment pundit, A-Plus for contempt of court.

A-Plus originally called Kwame Asare Obeng is alleged per the summons to have resorted to posting contemptuous materials on his Facebook and Social media handles about the court’s ruling in the previous contempt suit.

Last week, the High Court in Tema delivered its ruling in a contempt suit filed by Chairman Wontumi against UTV, Fadda Dickson, Felicity Ama Agyeman known as Nana Ama Macbrown, Valentina Nana Agyeiwaa popularly called Afia Schwarzenegger, Kwame Asare Obeng (A-Plus) and  Emmanuel Barnes(Mr. Logic) in which three of the contemnors were fined a sum of GHC60,000 each.

Two of them, Fadda Dickson and UTV were discharged after the court found that the latter had caused an apology to be published on the TV station relative to the contemptuous statements made by the panelist on an entertainment show aired on the station.

However, Valentina, who was not in court that day, was sentenced to 10 days in prison, and a bench warrant duly issued to that effect.

Per the current summons dated December 6, the applicant avers among others that A-Plus's comments on last week’s ruling are ridiculous, shameful, and highly scandalous of the court.

He adds that by those statements and descriptions, A-Plus is saying that the court’s ruling is ‘foolish and stupid’ and thus a direct insult to the trial judge.

The statement, according to Wontumi, also has the likelihood of undermining the authority of the court and exposing the trial judge to public hatred, ridicule, and contempt thus prays the court to commit A-Plus to prison to serve as deterrence to likeminded persons.
