Businessman secures injunction against A Plus
After the court proceeding on Monday, February 21, 2022, counsel for the plaintiff, Justice Abdulai advised the general public to be circumspect and desist from republishing the alleged defamatory comments.
Ghanaian Businessman Mr. Hassan Zein has secured an injunction at the High Court in Accra against Musician and Entertainment pundit Kwame Asare Obeng popularly called A Plus from publishing defamatory comments against him until the substantive suit is determined.
Mr. Hassan Zein has sued Kwame Asare Obeng popularly called A-PLUS for defamation and demanding general damages of Ten Million Ghana Cedis
According to the suit, the defendant posted Plaintiff’s picture on his Facebook page, and beneath the said picture, he made certain comments that he considers as defamatory.
He is thus seeking the following reliefs;
- A declaration that the defendant has defamed his reputation
- General damages of Ten Million Ghana Cedis.
- An order directed at defendant to retract the said defamatory comment and picture of the plaintiff through the same medium used in defaming him
- An order directed at Defendant to apologize within seven(7) days to Plaintiff using the same medium used to commit the act of defamation
- Perpetual injunction against the Defendant from ever defaming the Plaintiff’s reputation.
- An order for the payment of exemplary and punitive damages.
