Nigerian socialite Cubana Chief Priest has become the latest celebrity to be charged with abusing banknotes. 

The Instagram celebrity whose real name is Pascal Okechukwupleaded pleaded not guilty to a three-count charge filed against him by the country's Financial Crimes Watchdog when he appeared at a Federal Court on Wednesday.

“In the charge filed on 4 April by the EFFC’s prosecutor, Rotimi Oyedepo, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and seven other lawyers representing the anti-graft commission, it was alleged that Mr Okechukwu 13 February, at Eko Hotel, within the jurisdiction of the court, while dancing during a social event, tampered with funds in the denomination of N500 (Five Hundred Naira) notes issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria by spraying same for two hours, and thereby committed an offence, contrary to and punishable under Section 21(1) of the Central Bank Act 2007,” reported local publication, Premium Times. 

"In count 2, it was alleged “that you, Okechukwu Pasca,l sometime in 2020, in Lagos during a social event, tampered with funds in the denomination of N500 (Five Hundred Naira) issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria by spraying same for two hours, and you thereby committed an offence, contrary to and punishable under Section 21(1) of the Central Bank Act 2007.”

Earlier last week, popular cross-dresser, Bobrisky was sentenced to six months in prison for the same offence.
