“Oheneba Nkrabea completes admission process to Achimota School” – Father of Rasta student confirms

Information available to Dennislaw News is that Oheneba Nkrabea, one of the two Rasta students who were earlier denied admission to Achimota school has finally completed the admission process and has since been assigned a class.

This comes on the heel of the school’s decision to rescind its application for a stay of execution on an Accra High Court order, compelling the school to admit the students. 

The Attorney-General mentioned in an interview on Accra-based Asempa FM that he had been in contact with the school’s governing board and impressed on them to reconsider the application for a stay on execution, pending the hearing of the appeal. This was to enable the students to continue their studies while the court processes continued. 

On Wednesday evening, the governing board of Achimota School announced in a press release signed by its chairman, Osei Kwame Agyeman, that it had withdrawn its application for a stay of execution, “taking into account the interests of all parties”

Consequently, the father of Oheneba Nkrabea, Mr. Ras Aswad Nkrabea has confirmed to Dennislaw News that Oheneba has completed the admission processes and has been officially enrolled. He confirmed that the school was wholly receptive to Oheneba and showed significant support to him. 

“I was very excited about the process. The students recognized us and they were just cheering us, jubilating, and there was a warm welcome for us. The staff did very well and there was a warm and official welcome for us. We were surprised that they were so receptive. I really appreciate it”, he told Dennislaw News.

Meanwhile, the second student, Tyrone Marhguy has yet to go through the process. Mr. Aswad Nkrabea has intimated that Marhguy is expected to go through the process tomorrow.

The governing board of Achimota SHS would, however, proceed with its decision to appeal against the ruling.
