We only prosecute when the evidence justifies it-Deputy AG
In an interview on JoyNews, Dr. Srem Sai emphasized that his boss, Dr. Dominic Ayine, is deeply committed to legal integrity and will never pursue a case unless there is a solid foundation for conviction.
Deputy Attorney General Dr. Justice Srem Sai has assured the public that the Attorney General’s office operates strictly on the strength of evidence, not political motives or public outcry.
In an interview on JoyNews, Dr. Srem Sai emphasized that his boss, Dr. Dominic Ayine, is deeply committed to legal integrity and will never pursue a case unless there is a solid foundation for conviction.
“He doesn’t take cases to court just for the sake of it,” he explained. “He has to be personally convinced that the evidence is strong enough to merit a prosecution.”
Describing Dr. Ayine as principled and unwavering when it comes to legal standards, Dr. Srem Sai dismissed any notion that political interests influence the Attorney General.
“He is not driven by the headlines or political noise. He is focused purely on what the law says,” he added. “This is a man who will never bend the rules to serve an agenda.”
Reflecting on his own decision to accept the deputy role, Dr. Srem Sai cited his long-standing respect for Dr. Ayine as a key factor. “He taught me in law school—constitutional law, administrative law, natural resources law. I know firsthand the depth of his legal mind and character.”
He acknowledged the intense expectations that have come with his new office, admitting, “The weight of national trust is real. Since my appointment, sleep has become a luxury.”
Nonetheless, he remains confident and committed, reassured by the credibility of the man leading the justice ministry.
