The Wa Magistrate Court has remanded three farmers into police custody for allegedly murdering a 29-year-old Fulani herdsman, Demo Jeti.

A police statement dated September 4, 2022, narrating the incident said preliminary investigation indicated that the deceased took his cattle to the Kuntaali bush for grazing in the morning of July 1, 2022, but only the cattle returned home later that day without him.

Accused persons, John Dakurah, Numbuzie Chawinaa, and Sylvester Tankpare were later arrested on August 30, 2022.

In court on September 6, 2022, the pleas of the accused persons were not taken as the court held it did not have jurisdiction to try the case.

The matter was subsequently adjourned to September 19, at which time it is expected that the High Court will take over the murder case.
