UG School of Law introduces 19 new LLM and MA programmes

The LLM programmes will provide specialized legal training to persons with previous backgrounds in law, while the MA programmes will provide functional legal training to persons without a previous background in law.

The University of Ghana School of Law has announced the introduction of 19 new graduate programmes starting in January 2023.

While admissions have already opened for the new programmes, the school says the Master of Laws (LL.M.) and Master of Arts (M.A.) programmes will “replace and expand the current postgraduate course offerings at the school.”

The new programmes include; Alternative Dispute Resolution (M.A & LLM.), Corporate and Commercial Law (M.A & LLM.), Energy Law, Policy and Practice (LLM & M. A), Financial Markets Law and Regulation (LLM & M.A), Gender and the Law (M.A & LLM), Health Law and Ethics (LLM & M.A), Human Rights Law and Practice (M.A & LLM), International Law (LLM & M.A), Information Technology Law (LLM & M.A), Law and Development (LLM & M.A), Labour Law and Practice (LLM & M.A) and the Law of the Sea and Ocean Governance (M.A & LLM).

The rest are; Law for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (LLM & M.A), National Security Law and Practice (M.A & LLM), Maritime Law (LLM & M.A), Natural Resources Law (M.A & LLM), Law and Practice of Administration (LLM & M.A), Paralegal Practice (M.A & LLM), and Tax Law, Policy and Practice (LLM & M.A). 

The LLM programmes according to the school will provide specialized legal training to persons with previous backgrounds in law, while the MA programmes will provide functional legal training to persons without a previous background in law.
