Two suspects remanded again over murder of Immigration officer
Two men accused in connection with the murder of Immigration Officer Stephen King Amoah will remain in custody while prosecutors await key reports needed to move the case forward.
The Adabraka District Court has remanded Bright Aweh and Thomas Zigah into prison custody for another two weeks.
The matter had earlier been adjourned to July 29, 2026, for a final determination.
However, the expected ruling could not proceed because the prosecution is still waiting for a DNA examination report and advice from the Attorney-General’s Office.
The outcome of those processes is expected to guide the next stage of the case.
Aweh and Zigah are before the court over the killing of Stephen King Amoah, an Immigration Officer whose death drew public attention and renewed calls for justice.
Amoah was first reported missing after he failed to return home from duty.
His disappearance prompted a search and an investigation by security agencies.
The matter later became a murder investigation after his partially charred body was found.
Following police investigations, Aweh and Zigah were arrested and put before the Adabraka District Court.
The prosecution has indicated that investigations include forensic materials, with the pending DNA report forming part of the evidence being awaited.
The two accused persons will remain in custody until their next appearance after the two-week remand period.
The case is expected to continue once the Attorney-General’s advice and the outstanding forensic report are available.
