Two police officers involved in recent bullion van robberies

The Greater Accra Regional Police Service has indicated that their preliminary investigations have cited two policemen, for their involvement in recent bullion van robberies in the Region.
The policemen whose names were not indicated are among a number of other suspects the police are investigating.
Between February 2021 to March 2022, the Region experienced four bullion van robberies; with some leading to the death of a police officer on duty. These were in areas around Kingsway, Baatsona, Jamestown, and an attempted one around North Kaneshie.
In a statement today, March 7, 2022, the police said “investigations are continuing and we expect to soon bring all culpable people to face justice.”
“The public will be given further details as soon as it is possible to do so without compromising the ongoing investigation,” the statement continued.
