The Northern Regional Police Command has apprehended two individuals, Abdul-Majeed Abdulai and Abdul-Majeed Saeed, in connection with the fatal shooting of 26-year-old Yakubu Mohammed Habib. The incident occurred on February 26, 2025, in Fuo, a suburb of Tamale in the Sagnarigu Municipality.

The two suspects, who had been declared wanted following the incident, were arrested on May 24 and 26, respectively.

Their arrest follows earlier detentions of two other suspects, Baba Habib and Alhassan Fuseini, who were already arraigned before the court shortly after the incident.

The Ghana Police Service, in a statement, reaffirmed its dedication to ensuring that all individuals involved in the crime are held accountable, stating that justice will be pursued without compromise.

The tragic killing stemmed from a conflict that began on the night of February 25, when Mustapha Muktadel, the brother of the deceased, was allegedly attacked by Baba Habib and his associates following a dispute. The altercation escalated and culminated in the fatal shooting of Yakubu Mohammed Habib the following day.

Community members say tensions in the area have been high since the incident, but they commend the police for taking decisive steps in arresting the suspects.

Investigations are ongoing as the police continue to build a case to ensure a full prosecution of all involved.
