Police in the Central North Region have arrested two men in connection with the gruesome killing of a 21-year-old seamstress, Tahiru Zenabu, whose body was found in her home in Kokoase, a suburb of Twifo Praso, on April 3, 2025.

The suspects—28-year-old mechanic Richard Armah and 24-year-old disc jockey Isaac Arhin, popularly known as “Fresh DJ”—are both residents of Twifo Praso.

According to DCOP Abraham Acquaye, the Regional Police Commander, initial findings revealed that Armah had developed romantic feelings for Zenabu, which she did not reciprocate. Armah allegedly discussed the matter with Arhin, who then introduced him to a spiritualist known for rituals intended to attract affection—often referred to locally as "for girls."

When the ritual failed to yield the desired results, Arhin and the spiritualist reportedly took matters into their own hands. They are suspected of storming Zenabu’s residence, sexually assaulting her, and then murdering her in cold blood.

The police were able to trace Zenabu’s stolen phone, which had been handed to Armah for concealment. This led to his arrest and subsequent confession, during which he named Arhin as an accomplice. Arhin was arrested shortly after.

Authorities say the suspects will soon be charged in court. Meanwhile, DCOP Acquaye urged residents to remain calm and encouraged anyone with further information to come forward, assuring the public that investigations were well underway.

At the crime scene, investigators found distressing evidence: a piece of cloth tied around the victim's neck, blood on her hands, a tube of super glue, a condom wrapper, and an apple. Her body was taken to the Twifo Praso Government Hospital mortuary for autopsy and preservation.

The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, but many have praised the police for their swift and decisive action in pursuing justice for Zenabu.
