Trasacco: Six suspected land guards arrested after gun battle
According to a police situational report, officers arrived at the scene to find a group of about 50 men firing at workers on the land. The officers returned fire and chased the group into nearby bushland.
Police in Accra have arrested six men suspected of working as land guards after a mid-day shoot-out at Trasacco.
The arrests followed a distress call to the Police on Saturday, 10 January 2026, at about 12:50 GMT.
According to a police situational report, officers arrived at the scene to find a group of about 50 men firing at workers on the land. The officers returned fire and chased the group into nearby bushland.
Six suspects were arrested during the operation. Police say they seized:
One AK-47 rifle with five rounds of ammunition
One Luger T9 rifle with five rounds of ammunition
One Regard MC rifle with 13 rounds of ammunition
Four motorbikes
The suspects and the weapons have been taken to the Accra Regional Police Headquarters, where they are being held as investigations continue.
Police say efforts are under way to track down the remaining members of the group who fled the scene.
