TikToker remanded over alleged cyberbullying of Mohbad’s widow

A Lagos court has ordered the remand of TikToker Oladimeji Hammed, popularly known as Immunizer, after he was arraigned over alleged online attacks on Omowunmi Aloba, widow of late singer Mohbad.

The 27-year-old appeared before a Magistrate’s Court sitting in Ikeja on Tuesday on charges linked to cyberstalking, cyberbullying and the publication of harmful content.

He pleaded not guilty.

Although the court granted him bail, he is to remain in custody until he meets the bail conditions.

The court directed him to produce two sureties, each with evidence of a bank account balance of at least N700,000.

One surety must be a state civil servant, while the other must be his blood relative.

Both sureties are also required to provide proof of tax compliance.

The case was then adjourned for further hearing.

The police allege that Hammed used his social media platforms to repeatedly target Omowunmi with abusive, provocative and damaging publications.

According to the prosecution, the posts were made between February 8 and March 14, 2026.

The charge sheet says one of the posts accused the widow of planning to leave Nigeria before justice was served in connection with Mohbad’s death.

Another publication allegedly suggested that she had failed to respond to claims of infidelity during court proceedings.

The prosecution also claims Hammed later published content alleging that private materials belonging to Omowunmi had been leaked online.

In another video, he allegedly made derogatory remarks and accused her of having a hidden agenda in matters concerning her late husband.

Police prosecutors told the court that the publications were not isolated comments but formed part of a pattern of online harassment.

They alleged that the posts exposed the widow to public ridicule, trolling, intimidation and threats.

The prosecution further claimed that the online attacks contributed to an incident on March 15, when Omowunmi was publicly confronted and nearly assaulted.

One of the counts also accuses Hammed of publishing nude images and other harmful content allegedly intended to humiliate and cause emotional distress to the widow.

The charges were filed by the Commissioner of Police under the Cybercrimes Act.

Mohbad, whose full name was Ilerioluwa Aloba, died on September 12, 2023.

His death triggered widespread public outrage in Nigeria and continued calls for justice.
