A Kumasi Circuit Court has granted GHC 80,000 bail to three students of the Opoku Ware Senior High School (SHS) over an attempted robbery incident.

According to officials, the students tried to snatch a taxi cab from its driver last Friday near the Royal Golf Park junction in Kumasi.

The students, aged between 17 and 19 years have been charged with conspiracy to commit robbery, robbery, and unlawful damage.

The court presided over by Abdul Razak Musah subsequently adjourned the matter to September 1, 2022.

The School’s management has also confirmed that the accused persons are indeed students of the school.

In a statement, it said the three students had been withdrawn from the boarding house for breaking various school rules – wearing unprescribed attire, fighting, stealing, and absenteeism.

“Every attempt by the school authorities to reform these boys have proved futile,” it said.
