Swear in Prince Asumadu as SRC Prez within 14 days-Court orders UG

A High Court in Accra has ordered the Management of the University of Ghana, Legon to swear in Prince Asumadu as SRC president of the University within 14 days.

Prince Asumadu contested in the just ended Legon SRC election and was subsequently declared as the winner.

 However he, together with 2 others also elected into SRC offices has not been sworn in after barely 2 months.

Faced with this situation, Prince sued the Vice-Chancellor of the University together with the Dean of Affairs, SRC Electoral Commissioner, and the Registrar at the High Court seeking eight reliefs which included among others, an order to be sworn in as SRC president.

In an interview with myjoyonline.com, Wisdom Ndukwe, vice to Prince Asumadu, confirmed that the High Court has ordered that the Complainant be sworn in as SRC president within 14 days.

The court also slapped the respondents; the Vice-Chancellor, the Registrar, and Dean of Students with a cost of  GH¢1,000
