Suspected murderer of Bolt driver in Feyiase arrested

Police in Kuntenase has arrested a man suspected to have perpetrated the murder of Mr. Israel Agyei Manu, a headteacher of Rogel Montessori Basic School. Mr. Manu was a driver registered with the ride-hailing service, Bolt.

The suspect whose name has been given as Rashid Ibrahim was picked up by police after his initial alibi was deemed untenable by the police. He later confessed to the crime and assisted the police in retrieving the machete used in the crime.

The deceased drove a Toyota Vitz with registration number GE 3170-21. He was murdered at the Feyiase New Site on 4th July 2021. Some residents of the town recounted hearing a loud cry moments before the body of the deceased was discovered.

A joint search by the police and community members subsequently resulted in the retrieval of the head of the decapitated body.

Meanwhile, the police have commended the members of the community who “volunteered their observation of the movement of neighbors and strangers alike to Police, leading to the arrest.”
