A suspect has been apprehended in connection with the fatal stabbing of Edward Borketey Sackey, a final-year student at O'Reilly Senior High School.

The tragic incident occurred on Monday, September 2, when Edward, 18, was reportedly stabbed in the chest during an altercation with a fellow student on campus.

Edward, who was studying in the General Arts Department, was involved in a dispute with a student from the Visual Arts Department, identified as Godwin.

The altercation took place shortly after Edward had completed an exam. According to Edward’s cousin, the disagreement escalated into a physical fight.

Reports from 3News indicate that the argument was centered around a discussion about wealth, which ultimately led to Godwin stabbing Edward three times in the chest.

In the aftermath, Edward's family is demanding justice. Enoch Sackey, the father of the deceased, expressed his frustration to TV3, accusing the school of negligence. He mentioned that his niece had called him earlier to inform him about the fight, prompting him to rush to the school. He was disappointed that the teachers had not intervened to prevent the situation from escalating.

On Tuesday, grieving family members, dressed in red and black, gathered at the school to voice their dissatisfaction. Enoch Sackey criticized the school administration, the attacker's family, and the police for their lack of communication and action regarding the incident.
