The Police and community search parties on Monday arrested a suspect said to be behind the recent disappearance, and murder of private security persons in Wa, the Upper West Regional capital.

Suspect Kankani Adongo was arrested at Bamahu, a suburb of Wa, after the body of a male adult, suspected to be one of the missing private security men was discovered in a shallow grave.

According to reports, at least seven private security men have gone missing under unknown circumstances in Wa, in the last five months. There are also reports that 10 private security men have been killed by unknown assailants since December 2021.

In updates, the police also announced a GHC100,000 reward for information on other perpetrators.

“We continue to urge anyone with credible information that will lead to the arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators to come forward and share with the Police.
