Supreme Court nominees to face Parliament’s Appointment Committee on Oct 18, 19
In July this year, His Excellency the President, nominated Justices Barbara Frances Ackah-Yensu, George Kingsley Koomson, Samuel Kwame Adibu Asiedu, and Ernest Yao Gaewu for appointment as Justices of the apex court
The Four (4) nominees to the Supreme Court will face Parliament’s Appointment Committee on October 18 and 19, 2022 respectively for the consideration of their nomination.
The venue for their public vetting is the New Administration Block Committee Rooms 1 & 2 at the Parliament House of Ghana.
In July this year, His Excellency the President, nominated Justices Barbara Frances Ackah-Yensu, George Kingsley Koomson, Samuel Kwame Adibu Asiedu, and Ernest Yao Gaewu for appointment as Justices of the apex court in accordance with Article 144 (2) of the Constitution.
The hearing by the Appointment Committee will be held as follows;
Day 1 - Tuesday, 18th October 2022
(a) Consideration of the nomination of Justice Barbara Frances Ackah-Yensu at 10 am.
(b) Consideration of the Nomination of Justice George Kingsley Koomson at 2:pm.
Day 2- Wednesday, 19th October 2022
(a) Consideration of the Nomination of Justice Samuel Kwame Adibu Aseidu at 10 am.
(b) Consideration of the Nomination of Justice Ernest Yao Gaewu at 2:pm.
