The President of the Ghana Bar Association, Yaw Acheampong Boafo has warned politicians to desist from seeking to destroy the Judiciary by their destructive, divisive and partisan comments and attacks.

According to him, judges are not trained to be either NPP or NDC and thus should desist from seeking to colour them politically.

Delivering a speech on LEST WE FORGET at the 42nd Martyrs Day Remembrance Service at the Calvary Baptist Church in Accra, Mr Acheampong also called on judges to eschew all acts of impropriety and biases in the discharge of their functions.

He was also concerned about the current state of security for judges in the country following recent happenings.

Also, the GBA President condemned recent acts of vigilantism reported in parts of the country during the just-ended voter registration exercises and warned against acts that would create the necessary conditions for the military to take advantage.

For the youth, Mr Boafo urged them to be purposeful in life and not be led by unscrupulous persons into committing acts of violence.

The Ghana Bar Association also took some time to honour the brave men and women of the present Judiciary who continue to carry out their work judiciously.

30th June each year is set aside as the Martyrs' Day and commemorated in honour of the three murdered Justices; Justice Fred Poku Sarkodie, Justice Cecilia Koranteng Addow and Justice K.A.Agyapong.
