Spiritualist sentenced to death in Bolgatanga for murdering wife, daughter

A spiritualist in Bolgatanga, Mbawona Tindana has been sentenced to death by the High Court on two counts of murder contrary to Section 47 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29).

The accused now convict, pleaded not guilty to the charges but was found guilty by the 7-member jury at the end of the full trial.

According to the fact case presented by Senior State Attorney, Ms Joyce Debrah, the accused age 25 and traditional spiritualist on June 27, 2019, chopped off the heads of his wife and two daughters to appease his idols.

Further to the above, he attempted attacking his son with a machette but he managed to escape and was sent to the Hospital for treatment.

She added that immediately after the victims' bodies were retrieved and deposited at the Bolgatanga Regional Hospital Morgue for an autopsy, Tindana was arrested.

After the full trial, he was Unanimously found guilty on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, by the jury for his dastardly act, thus the court presided over by Justice Wilson sentenced Tindana to death.
