Special Prosecutor charges Juaben MCE nominee with 26 counts of corruption

The Office Special Prosecutor has charged suspended Juaben Municipal Chief Executive nominee, Alexander Kwabena Sarfo-Kantanka with 26 counts of corruption.

In a statement dated May 24, 2022, it indicated that Mr. Sarfo-Kantanka is facing those charges “in respect of a public election-arising out of two public elections conducted in September and November 2021 for the confirmation or otherwise of his nomination.”

He is to be arraigned before the Kumasi High Court on June 1, 2022, the statement said.

He failed two times to secure the required number of votes for his confirmation as MCE.
