A Nigerian woman who works as a commercial sex worker in Sekondi says she was violently assaulted by a client after a disagreement over payment.

The woman, who gave her name as Nancy, told CONNECT FM that the incident happened on Friday night, 26 December, after a man approached her and requested her services.

She said they agreed on a fee of GH¢50 for a short session and went together to the man’s residence.

According to Nancy, the confrontation began when the man attempted to extend the encounter beyond the agreed period. She said she told him she was tired and could not continue, which she claimed infuriated him.

She alleged that the man then demanded a refund of the GH¢50, which she refused, insisting she had already provided the service.

Nancy further claimed that the man demanded her mobile phone and, when she declined to hand it over, he physically assaulted her.

She said she later reported the matter to the Sekondi Police, who issued her with a medical form to seek treatment at a hospital.

Police are reported to be investigating the incident.
