Four policemen and a civilian who have been indicted for their alleged involvement in recent bullion van robberies in the Greater Accra Region have been remanded for one more week, as the court refused a bail application from their lawyers.

Police Prosecutor, DSP Sylvester Asare informed the court that four separate dockets have been created for the accused persons, while police continue their investigations.

Opposing a bail plea from the accused persons' lawyers, he indicated that granting them bail will hamper police investigations.

The court presided over by Patricia Amponsah, therefore, remanded the accused persons until their next appearance on April 5, 2022.

Two of the officers, Constable Affisu Yaro Ibrahim and Constable Albert Ofosu have been charged with attempt to commit robbery, while the rest, Constable Richard Boadu, Constable Rabiu Jambedu, and a civilian, Razak Alhassan, have been abetment of crime.

They were remanded on March 9, when they made their first court appearance.
