Police officer interdicted for smoking suspected narcotic substance

A police officer with the Accra Regional Police Command has been interdicted for smoking a substance suspected to be a narcotic drug, a police statement said.
The officer, identified as Sergeant Isaac Nii Sowah was captured in a video while in his police uniform, with what looked like a cigarette in his left hand.
“Investigation is ongoing and the Sergeant will be taken through the necessary disciplinary and legal action. In addition, he would be given the necessary psycho-social support in line with the new strategic Police welfare policy,” the statement added.
