Police investigate deaths of two women found in Tamale hotel room

Police in the Northern Region have begun investigations after two women were found dead in a hotel room in Tamale.
The bodies were discovered on Monday, August 3, at Cab Hospitality Hotel in the Gbewa Residential Area.
Hotel management reported the incident to the police, prompting officers to move to the scene.
According to a statement issued on Tuesday, August 4, the two women are believed to be nationals of Benin.
Their bodies have been taken to the Tamale Teaching Hospital mortuary for preservation and post-mortem examination.
Police say the autopsy will help determine the exact cause of death.
Investigators are also working to formally identify the deceased persons and establish the circumstances that led to their deaths.
The police said they are liaising with the relevant authorities to help contact the families of the two women.
As part of efforts to support the investigation, the Inspector-General of Police has deployed a special team from the National Police Headquarters.
The team is made up of investigators, intelligence officers and crime scene experts.
They are expected to assist the Northern Regional Police Command in gathering evidence and tracing the events leading to the incident.
The police have appealed to members of the public who may have credible information to assist the investigation.
