Police inspector granted GH¢300K bail in Pooley’s murder case
Owusu was among several individuals arrested in connection with the killing of Francis Frimpong, a devoted Kumasi Asante Kotoko FC supporter widely known as ‘Nana Pooley.’

The Sunyani District Court ‘B’ has granted bail in the amount of GH¢300,000 with two sureties to 42-year-old police inspector Agyemang Duah Owusu, who is currently facing murder trial.
Owusu was among several individuals arrested in connection with the killing of Francis Frimpong, a devoted Kumasi Asante Kotoko FC supporter widely known as ‘Nana Pooley.’
As part of the bail conditions, the court directed Owusu to surrender his passport within three days and report regularly to the police.
Meanwhile, the court eased restrictions for four other suspects—Ignatius Baffour-Awuah, a former Minister of Employment and Labour Relations, along with Joseph Kyeremeh, Elizabeth Akosua Ntiwaa, and Yaa Asantewaa. Unlike Owusu, they are now permitted to travel freely outside Sunyani. These individuals have been charged with abetting murder under Sections 20 (1) and 46 of the Criminal Offenses Act, 1960 (Act 29). They are required to report to the police weekly and are expected back in court on March 10, 2025.
However, bail was denied for three other accused persons—Isaac Fosu, Augustine Yeboah, and Yaw Koshy—who remain in police custody. They face murder charges and are scheduled to reappear in court on March 3, 2025.
Additionally, authorities are still searching for another suspect, identified as Braimer, who is currently at large.
The tragic incident occurred on February 2, 2025, during a Ghana Premier League match at the Nsoatre Professor Amoah Koromansah II Stadium, where Nsoatreman FC hosted Kumasi Asante Kotoko FC. Pooley was fatally stabbed during the encounter.
