The suspects were arrested at a hideout at Roman Down in Asamankese after officers traced a stolen unregistered blue Hyundai Elantra to the location.
The vehicle had reportedly been stolen at Nkawkaw on Monday, May 25, 2026.
After the owner lodged a complaint, the Ghana Police Service activated its Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team to help locate the vehicle.
Using geolocation and cyber-surveillance tools, the team tracked the car to a walled compound in Asamankese.
The CVET team then worked with the Police Intelligence Directorate detachment in the area to carry out a joint operation.
Officers surrounded and entered the property, leading to the arrest of seven suspects.
Two other vehicles, both Hyundai Sonatas, were also retrieved from the premises.
The suspects have been identified as 28-year-old Acheampong Otuo Kofi, also known as Levels; Kpachen Ebenezer, 26; Fianko Isaac, also known as Yaw, 35; Besah Elizabeth, 24; David Kudalor, 28; Enoch Acheampong, 38; and Solomon Odei, 35.
Police believe the suspects played different roles in the alleged syndicate.
Investigators are now working to trace the origin of the other recovered vehicles.
The three vehicles have been impounded for forensic checks, including chassis number verification.
Preliminary police investigations suggest the group may have links to a wider network operating beyond the Eastern Region.
Police suspect some stolen vehicles are moved to Accra, fitted with fake number plates and sold to unsuspecting buyers.
All seven suspects remain in police custody assisting investigations.
