Owusu Sekyere(Esq) elected National president of Rural Banks Association

The lawyer, who is the Ashanti Regional President of the GBA, served as the Vice President of the Rural Bankers Association in the Ashanti Region.

Mr Kwame Owusu Sekyere has been elected National president of the Association of Rural Banks, Ghana.

The lawyer, who is the Ashanti Regional President of the GBA, served as the Vice President of the Rural Bankers Association in the Ashanti Region.

Before being elevated to his new position, he joined the Board of Directors of ARB Apex Bank Plc in 2021, after becoming the Acting President of the National Association of Rural Banks, Ghana.

Mr Owusu Sekyere holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Sciences from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, and a Bachelor of Law (LLB) from the University of Ghana Legon, where he graduated in 2002, and then pursued the Professional law course and was called to the Ghana Bar in the year 2004.

Prior to becoming a lawyer, he taught Geography and Economics at Atwimaman Secondary School in 1998. Subsequently, he worked with the Cocoa Merchant Ghana Limited as a District Manager in charge of purchases of cocoa in the Sefwi-Wiawso District in the Western Region from 1999 to 2000.

Further to the above, he became a Notary Public, after his appointment in February.
