ORC inaugurates Audit Committee

The Office of the Registrar of Companies(ORC), Ghana has inaugurated its Audit Committee today, October 17, 2022.

The 5-member Committee will provide advisory and supportive services for the smooth functioning of the office.

In July, this year, President Akufo-Addo launched the ORC to take charge of the administration and registration of companies/Businesses in the country.

The ORC which hitherto was part of the Registrar General’s Department is now an autonomous body per the Ghana Companies Act 2019, (Act 992) which gave birth to it.

In her remarks, the Registrar of Companies, Madam Jemima Oware emphasized the Committee’s crucial role which will go a long way to ensure transparency and accountability in the Office’s operation.

Also the Director-General of the Internal audit Agency, Dr. Oduro Osae, who administered the Oath to the members, tasked them to ensure a high level of professionalism in the management of funds while working with management and stakeholders in their Mandatory, Advisory, and Support roles.

The Committee which has Madam Sena Dake(ICAG Rep) as its Chairperson, also consists of Mr. Cabb Kwasi Ababio(IAA Rep), Gloria Agassi(ORC Board Member), Mr. Kofi A Appenteng(IAA Rep) and William A. Atrilik(ORC Rep).
