One person arrested over Bereku shooting incident

The Ghana Police Service has apprehended an individual in connection with a shooting incident that occurred during the Awubia Festival in Bereku, Central Region.

A police report identified the suspect as Nai Akwasi Lartey, who was allegedly in possession of a pump-action gun. The suspect reportedly fired the weapon, injuring a festival-goer, who was quickly taken to the hospital for treatment.
Authorities have since recovered the pump-action gun and BB cartridges from Lartey.
“Nai Akwasi Lartey is currently in police custody and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation,” the police statement added.
