It noted that Mr. Odike has made some claims on Oyerepa FM to the effect that “Bediatuo of flagstaff house has brought people to Bosomefreho to engage in galamsey.”

Mr. Bediatuo per the letter thus demanded an immediate retraction and apology for the malicious and defamatory publication within a week upon Mr. Odike’s receipt.

Speaking on Newsbeat, Mr. Odike rendered an unqualified apology noting that he made those claims based on information he gathered in the media and thus did not have any first-hand information relative to the allegations.

“Actually, I saw this on a news bulletin so if my brother is demanding an apology, I render an apology to him because I did not go to the source, I also heard it in the news so whatever I said that might have caused his reputation, I am very sorry,” he said.
