No recruitment ongoing, beware of scammers-Police Service

The Ghana Police Service has strongly denied rumors of an ongoing recruitment exercise and is warning the public to be on high alert for fraudsters exploiting social media to peddle false information.

In a statement signed by Assistant Commissioner of Police Grace Ansah-Akrofi, the Service dismissed the claims circulating online as completely false. “There is no recruitment exercise currently underway,” the statement read. “Any such process will be announced officially via our website, verified social media accounts, and national newspapers.”

The Police urged the public to ignore individuals or groups claiming to offer job slots in exchange for payment, describing these as outright scams.

“We caution everyone not to fall victim to these fraudulent schemes. Do not pay money to anyone promising you a job in the Police Service,” the statement added.

Authorities have launched investigations into these scams, and the Police say anyone caught engaging in such illegal activities will be arrested and prosecuted.

The Service concluded by urging the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious individuals to the nearest Police station.
