The Constitution Review Committee (CRC), acting on a directive from President John Dramani Mahama, is set to launch a nationwide consultative tour aimed at engaging Ghanaians on possible amendments to the 1992 Constitution.
In a public notice released on Monday, June 10, the CRC emphasized that these upcoming zonal engagements form a crucial pillar of its mission to make the constitutional review process as inclusive and participatory as possible.
According to the committee, the Constitution is a collective national asset, and as such, citizens must play an active role in shaping its future. “The people’s voices must guide the reform agenda,” the statement noted, encouraging widespread involvement from individuals, community leaders, civil society, traditional rulers, youth groups, and other key stakeholders.
Details of the engagement tour—including dates and specific locations—are expected to be announced shortly through official channels.
In the interim, the CRC is inviting Ghanaians to submit their views in writing via email at submissions@constitutionreviewgh.org.
The committee reaffirmed its dedication to developing a constitutional framework that embodies the shared ideals and ambitions of all Ghanaians, paving the way for a more resilient and responsive democratic future.
