Nana Dr. S. K. B. Asante to launch book on Critical and Biographical Essays
Nana S.K. B. Asante, born on May 11, 1933, is a Ghanaian lawyer and the Paramount Chief of Asokore Asante in the Ashanti Region.
Renowned statesman and legal luminary, Nana Dr. Susubribi Krobea Asante will on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, launch his new book titled, ‘Critical and Biographical Essays of Nana Dr. S.K.B. Asante – from an African Village to the Global Village and Back.’
The event, set to happen at the Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences (GAAS) would also be chaired by Justice Stephen Alan Brobbey, a retired Supreme Court Judge and former Chief Justice of the Gambia.
It is scheduled to begin at 4:30pm, with equal broadcasts on Facebook and Zoom.

Nana S.K. B. Asante, born on May 11, 1933, is a Ghanaian lawyer and the Paramount Chief of Asokore Asante in the Ashanti Region.
He was an International Arbitrator and served on the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce, the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID).
Nana S.K.B. Asante attended Achimota School and holds an M.Phil. in African Studies from the University of Ghana.
He was one of the first student residents of the Legon Hall at the University of Ghana. He holds a JSD from Yale University Law School, 1965; LLM, London University, 1958; LLB, from the University of Nottingham,
An Honorary Chancellor of the Graduate School of Governance and Leadership, he was also a Visiting Professor at the University of Ghana.
AREAS OF SPECIALIZATION
He Has specialized and practiced in the areas of international investment law, international business transactions, international law, arbitration, commercial law and transactions, intellectual property law, corporate law, securities, constitutional law and governance, and the legal reforms and regulatory policies and measures required to support the development of a market economy.
Has advised many governmental and other entities in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Eastern and Central Europe on the structuring and negotiation of international transactions such as joint ventures, petroleum and mining agreements, technology transfer agreements, intellectual property law, management, and construction contracts, on the legal aspects of foreign investment and technology transfer and on legal sector reforms.
MAJOR PUBLICATIONS
Nana Dr. S.K.B. Asante has served on the advisory boards of several international legal journals, such as the Foreign Investment Law Journal and the Fordham Journal of International Law, and Third World Legal Studies; Property Law and Social Goals in Ghana, Ghana Universities Press, 1976; Transnational Investment Law and National Development, Lagos University Press, 1982;
He has published extensively and widely on numerous topics covering various areas, including international investment law, international business transactions, comparative law, international commercial arbitration law, development, constitutional law, and human rights books, and in journals such as the American Journal of International Law, the International and Comparative Law Quarterly, the Leiden Journal of International Law, the Journal of World Trade Law, the Harvard International Law Journal, Foreign Investment Law Journal - ICSID Review, Yale Law Journal, Wisconsin Law Review, Journal of African Law and Review of Ghana Law.
Additionally, Nana has lectured and participated in seminars at Harvard, Yale, Oxford, Cambridge, Columbia, Michigan, and Cornell Universities, The Hague Academy of International Law, the Brookings Institute in Washington, D.C., and the Soviet Academy of Arts and Sciences, and Lagos University, among others.
