Mile 11 residents demand justice as man fatally stabbed

A 33-year-old Ghanaian man, Samuel Yeboah, has died from stab wounds following a violent confrontation in Mile 11, located in the Ga South Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.

The fatal incident, which occurred on Monday, June 30, reportedly stemmed from an argument between Yeboah and his Nigerian co-tenant, Emeka Buchi. 

According to eyewitness accounts, the dispute escalated when Buchi allegedly summoned her children. A group of nine unidentified individuals later arrived at the scene, leading to a vicious assault on Yeboah, who was stabbed during the altercation.

He was immediately rushed to Finney Hospital, but tragically, he was declared dead upon arrival.

One resident, Ayisha, who helped convey the victim to the hospital, told Adom News that Buchi had previously threatened Yeboah during an earlier disagreement, raising concerns that the attack may have been premeditated.

Police have since arrested three individuals, including Buchi’s daughter and sister, while efforts are underway to track down at least two remaining suspects who are believed to be on the run.

The incident has ignited public outrage in the Mile 11 community. Local youth have expressed growing frustration with the authorities and have issued a stern warning: if swift justice is not served, they may resort to vigilante action.

“We will not sit by and watch this be swept under the rug. If the police fail us, we will act,” one community member warned.

The deceased’s body has been deposited at the Police Hospital morgue, and investigations are ongoing.
