Man jailed seven years for defiling 13-year old girl

Mohammed Abudi, a resident of Guli in the Wa Municipality, has been handed a seven-year custodial sentence by the Wa Circuit Court after admitting to defiling a 13-year-old girl.
His Lordship Jonathan Avoogo delivered the sentence on April 23, 2025, following Abudi’s guilty plea to the charge of defilement.
According to a police statement, the offence occurred on April 11, 2025, and the suspect was subsequently arrested by officers from the Upper West Regional Police Command on Sunday, April 13.
In its communication, the Command issued a stern warning to the public, emphasizing that such criminal acts will be met with the full force of the law.
