Man busted with 656 ATM cards charged with electronic trafficking, stealing

Bachir Musa Aminou, the 42-year old man who was arrested by the National Intelligence Bureau(NIB) in possession of 656 ATM cards connected with nine banks has been charged and remanded by an Accra Circuit Court.

The Court presided over by Ms. Evelyn Asamoah charged the accused person with two counts of electronic trafficking and stealing.

When he appeared before the Court today, September 23, 2021, Aminou pleaded not guilty to the charges.

ASP Fuseini Yakubu, prosecutor of the case however told the court that Aminou had no fixed place of residence. Thus was a flight risk.

Therefore, he prayed the court to remand the accused pending his outfit’s further investigation into the case.

The prosecutor’s argument was upheld by the court. The accused person was thus remanded into Police Custody and expected to re-appear on October 11, 2021

Bachir was arrested at the Kotoka International Airport on September 12, 2021, whiles going through departure formalities to enable him to travel to Dubai.
