Management of GSL has rolled out immediate psychological support interventions for students following the passing of an Accra Main PLC Part I student.
In a notice, management acknowledged the deep impact of the loss on students, especially colleagues of the deceased in Accra Main Group C, and outlined a two-phase support framework aimed at helping affected students navigate the grieving process.
The first intervention is a virtual support session with a psychologist for Accra Main Group C students. The session is scheduled for Tuesday, 24 March 2026, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and will be held online. Students are expected to register in advance through a link shared by the school.
Management also disclosed that in-person group support sessions with a psychologist will follow for students who may require further assistance after the initial virtual engagement. These sessions are set for Sunday, 29 March 2026, at the Accra Main Campus. Session 1 will run from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., while Session 2 will take place from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Students interested in attending the in-person sessions will be required to register for their preferred time slots, with the registration link to be shared after the first support session.
In its message to students, management urged affected persons not to grieve in isolation, encouraging them to reach out, check in on their friends, and take advantage of the counselling sessions being provided.
The intervention signals a proactive welfare response by GSL management, positioning student wellbeing as a priority during a period of mourning on campus.
