Landlord's wife in police grip for biting tenant's ear
According to the victim’s family, tension between the two women began after one of the landlord’s children allegedly injured Yaa Achiaa’s daughter.
Police at Barekese in the Ashanti Region have arrested a woman accused of biting her tenant’s ear during a fight at Fufuo, a suburb of Barekese.
The suspect, identified as Sister Afia, is said to have fought with her tenant, Yaa Achiaa, following a dispute involving children from the two households.
Yaa Achiaa is currently receiving treatment at the Barekese Hospital.
According to the victim’s family, tension between the two women began after one of the landlord’s children allegedly injured Yaa Achiaa’s daughter.
Yaa Achiaa reportedly warned her daughter not to play with the landlord’s children again.
The matter, which allegedly started on Monday, August 31, 2026, later escalated into a physical confrontation on Thursday, September 3.
Blessing Osei, the eldest daughter of the victim, told the media that Sister Afia bit her mother’s ear during the altercation.
She said residents stepped in to separate the two women.
“When she bit my mother’s ear, residents separated the fight. She and her husband rushed to the police station first to lodge a complaint, but she was arrested while my mother was taken to the hospital for medical attention,” she said.
Blessing Osei further alleged that Sister Afia had verbally abused her mother on several occasions before the incident.
She also claimed that the suspect threatened to injure her when she attempted to intervene in the fight.
“Even when I tried to separate the fight, the landlord’s wife attacked me and threatened to injure me, so I ran to a friend whom I had come to visit while the confrontation with my mother was ongoing,” she said.
Sister Afia remains in police custody while investigations continue.
Police are expected to examine the circumstances that led to the fight, including the competing accounts of the parties involved.
