Kwadaso court jails “Toxic” for three years over bedroom break-in
Prosecutors told the court that the complainant, Vashti Adwoa Apperkon, an Accra-based event planner, realised on 18 January 2026 that her bedroom window had been damaged, and several items were missing.
A Kwadaso Circuit Court has sentenced Emmanuel Mensah, a 27-year-old driver’s mate known as “Toxic,” to 36 months in prison for stealing.
Mensah pleaded guilty and was convicted on his own plea. The case was heard by Jephthah Appau.
Prosecutors told the court that the complainant, Vashti Adwoa Apperkon, an Accra-based event planner, realised on 18 January 2026 that her bedroom window had been damaged, and several items were missing.
The stolen property included:
Two iPhones
A Samsung Galaxy phone
An iWatch
Other personal effects valued at about GHS34,000
A bag containing $20, 20 Canadian dollars, 20 pounds, and GHS650
Police said Mensah was later arrested at Asafo. In his account to investigators, he admitted breaking into the room, taking the items, and selling them to an accomplice who is currently at large.
He also admitted converting the foreign currency and spending the proceeds on personal expenses.
Following investigations, he was charged and jailed.
