Kumasi: EOCO arrests 320 people in QNET fraud raid
The coordinated raid, conducted on Thursday, November 6, 2025, is described as the biggest single anti-human trafficking action in Ghana’s history.
The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has carried out a major operation in Kumasi, arresting 320 individuals linked to the notorious QNET human trafficking and fraud network.
The coordinated raid, conducted on Thursday, November 6, 2025, is described as the biggest single anti-human trafficking action in Ghana’s history — part of a wider crackdown on transnational crime and economic fraud.
EOCO’s Anti-Human Trafficking Unit launched simultaneous raids at two locations in Kumasi.
Early assessments show 25 suspects believed to be ringleaders, while 295 others are identified as victims of recruitment and employment scams posing as QNET business opportunities.
The arrests follow months of surveillance and investigation, aimed at exposing local and international actors behind the fraudulent scheme.
The QNET scheme, long flagged across West Africa, promises quick wealth or lucrative overseas jobs through direct selling.
Instead, victims are defrauded, coerced into debt, or exploited for further recruitment, fitting the profile of modern human trafficking disguised as business opportunities.
EOCO said it is working with QNET’s global representatives to “clamp down on the misuse of the company’s name” by fraudsters operating in Ghana and neighbouring countries.
The 25 suspects will face further interrogation and possible prosecution under Ghana’s Anti-Human Trafficking Act and Economic Crime statutes.
EOCO reaffirmed its commitment to dismantling organised crime networks, urging the public to report suspicious recruitment or investment schemes.
Officials added that this Kumasi operation surpasses a similar raid in Kasoa two weeks ago, where 26 arrests were made, marking a new phase in Ghana’s fight against human trafficking and financial fraud.
