The Kasoa Ofaakor District Court has remanded into custody a man accused of killing his girlfriend at Yamoah Nkwanta in the Awutu Senya West District of the Central Region.

Moses Ganyo appeared before the court on Monday 12 January 2026 over the death of a 24-year-old trader known in the community as Sister Yaa.

In open court, Ganyo admitted attacking the deceased, telling the judge he had travelled to visit her and suspected she was harbouring another man in her room. He said that suspicion led to a violent confrontation which resulted in her death.

Prosecutors requested more time to complete their investigations, including taking further statements and finalising evidence for trial. The presiding judge granted the application and ordered that the accused be kept on remand for two weeks.

Ganyo is expected to reappear before the Kasoa Ofaakor District Court on 26 January 2026.
