JUSAG to embark on strike on October 28th

Staff of the Judicial Service, unlike other public institutions, have their salaries and other allowances determined by the Judicial Council with prior approval from the President of Ghana.

The Judicial Service Staff Association of Ghana has served notice that it will embark on a total withdrawal of services on October 28th, 2021.

This follows a two-week ultimatum the association gave to government, on Oct 1, to revise salaries and other allowances.

According to a press statement from the association, nothing has been done about assenting and implementation of the Judicial Council’s decision on salaries and allowances.

It added that government, as far back as October 18th, 2019 had undertaken to review the salary and other allowances of staff of the Judicial Service for same to be implemented in 2021.

“We entreat all staff to adhere to the directives of National and Regional Executives of JUSAG to effectively press home our legitimate demands,” Alex Nartey, National President said in a statement.
