JB murder trial: You did not author DNA report –Defence lawyer tells Consultant
The accused persons, Daniel Asiedu aka sexy dondon and Vincent Bossu aka Junior Agogo have been charged with the murder of the former Member of Parliament. Additionally, the two are facing a charge of conspiracy to rob.
A defence lawyer in the trial of the murder of the late MP for Abuakwa North has doubted the authenticity of a DNA Forensic report tendered in evidence by a consultant, Dr. Kenneth Frimpong.
During cross-examination of the seventh prosecution witness, Lawyer Yaw Danquah pointed out to the former that he did not author the report thus the same cannot be relied on for the trial.
Additionally, counsel noted that the said report that is in evidence is full of theories that lack substance and thus doubted if the witness could speak to a document that he has his name and seal on but did not author.
On his part, the witness, Dr. Frimpong disagreed with the above assertion by counsel noting that the samples he received were tested in South Africa and labs in the United Kindom and were heavily focused on acceleration thus the same cannot be said to be theory.
So far, the prosecution has tendered in evidence, two reports namely; a Postmortem report and a DNA Forensic report.
Dr. Frimpong, the seventh prosecution witness has meanwhile been discharged by the High Court after being cross-examined.
