The International Police (INTERPOL) has arrested Ghanaian Gospel Musician Jacklin Sarfo Gyamfua popularly known as Ohemaa Jacky in Cotonou, Benin.

Jacklin is facing trial in Ghana for defrauding by false pretenses. Although granted bail, she is alleged to have defrauded a trader of GH¢150,000 under the pretext of securing the latter with an Italian passport and resident identity cards.

In November 2021, an Accra Circuit Court presided over by Mrs Evelyn Asamoah issued an arrest warrant against the gospel musician after she failed to appear before the court.

Authorities say soon after she was granted bail, she refused to attend court. Prosecutors also said security officers tried to trace her at her home in Accra, but to no avail.

According to reports, her arrest now comes after Ghana sought assistance from INTERPOL in Cotonou.

The “Hakuna Matata” singer is also reported to have been arrested together with her husband, Emmanuel Peprah. The two are said to have had in possession a fake Italian passport.
