Ho court remands man after police intercept 2,028 suspected drug parcels
Prosecutor Sgt Michael Kasey said Dogbey was arrested on 23 January along the Fume Enclave–Ho–Sogakope route, which investigators had identified as the final delivery point for the consignment.
A Ho Magistrate Court has ordered Godsway Dogbey into police custody in connection with the alleged possession of narcotic substances intercepted through an intelligence-led operation.
Dogbey’s plea was not taken. He is due back in court on 5 February.
Prosecutor Sgt Michael Kasey said Dogbey was arrested on 23 January along the Fume Enclave–Ho–Sogakope route, which investigators had identified as the final delivery point for the consignment.
He told the court presided over by Mr Albert Annor Owusu that officers intercepted 2,028 parcels of a substance suspected to be Indian hemp, with an estimated street value of GH¢1,022,500.
According to the prosecutor, Dogbey denied owning the consignment and pointed to another person — also called Godsway, believed to be from Kpando — as the owner of the suspected narcotics.
The court remanded Dogbey for 10 days to support ongoing investigations, and urged him to cooperate fully with police.
