Herbalist arrested for assaulting woman at Walewale

The West Mamprusi Municipal Police Command has arrested a 30-year-old herbalist, Iddrisu Basiru, for allegedly assaulting a woman who had visited his residence at Zangum for treatment.

According to the victim, 28-year-old Musah Asia, she informed her parents about Basiru’s alleged mistreatment and her intention to travel to Accra and return. Basiru, reportedly angered by her decision, assaulted her and left visible injuries on her face.

Asia, a mother of two, lodged a complaint with the police, leading to Basiru’s arrest on Saturday, September 27, 2025. He was subsequently sent to the Walewale Police Charge Office for investigations.

Police officials have declined to provide further details, citing ongoing investigations.
